This is official! India vs Bangladesh series adjournment, BCCI announcement

India will now visit Bangladesh for three matches ODI and T20I series in September 2026.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the India vs Bangladesh White-Ball series has been postponed for August this year. The series will now be held in September 2026. With diplomatic tension between India and Pakistan, the series was in crisis. Now, the official decision has arrived.

“After discussing the decision between the two boards, keeping in mind the international cricketing commitments and scheduling facilities of both teams, BCB is ready to welcome India in September 2026 in September 2026. The revised dates and fixtures will be announced for the tour in September 2026. BCCI said in a statement.

Why was the IND vs. Bain series postponed?

By the last week of July, the BCCI and BCB were in discussion about the fate of the series. While BCCI was waiting for a node from the Government of India, the situation changed last week. The Indian Board decided not to send the team to Bangladesh after the Government of India advice against the visit.

The BCB stopped the sale of its media rights, including the much -awaited IND vs. Ban series. As Cricbuzz reportThe last date for submission of technical bids was on 7 July.

“They have informed us that there is no India series. After announcing the tender, they did not provide ITT. They are selling, for now, only for the Pakistan series,” An Indian broadcaster told Cricbuzz.

Since a politically charged student movement in 2024 overthrew Sheikh Hasina’s government, diplomatic relations between India and Bangladesh have been their worst. Bangladeshi political leaders have since made anti -Indian statements. In such a situation, the fate of the IND vs. Bain series looked foggy.

Long break for Rohit-Kohli

With the postponement of India vs Bangladesh series, India cricket fans will have to wait longer for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s return to ODI cricket. With both stars retiring from T20i and Test cricket, ODI fans are the only opportunity to see them playing.

Since there is no official series in August, the next ODI assignment of the India cricket team will be in Australia in October-November. India will then take South Africa at home in November. After the tour of England, Team India will play in the Asia Cup in September.
