East-NBA player Ben McLemore convicted rape charges

After 11-day tests and about 10 hours of deliberation, an Oregon jury found NBA Guard Ben McLemore on Thursday for raping a woman in 2021.
McLemore, 32, who last played in NBA with Portland Trail Blazers in 2022, was found guilty of first-degree rape charges, first-degree allegations of illegal sexual penetration and a count of other-degree sexual abuse by a jury at Clackmas County. He will be sentenced next Wednesday.
McLemore promised not to be guilty of those allegations with the fourth allegation, an additional count of sexual abuse of the second degree.
“We believe people who are afraid of celebrities who are afraid of celebrities or prominence may avoid prosecution,” District Attorney John Ventaworth said in a statement, District Attorney John Ventaworth said in a statement. “Not in Clackmas County. This case indicates criminal acts regardless of the criminal’s community position.”
On October 3, 2021, McLemore was identified as a suspect after investigating a sexual harassment report at Lake Ososo, Ore.
The case went before a Clackmas County Grand Jury in February 2024, when the women who accused McLemore testified. According to the Lake Ososo Police, the grand jury took out an arrest warrant for McLemore and also issued an indictment against him.
McLemore was arrested in April 2024 by American Marshall.
In the 2013 draft, the number 7 overall pick by Sacramento Kings, McLemore also played with Memphis Grizzleez, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Laws and Trail Blazers before going abroad to continue their career.
At the 556 NBA Games (268 Starts), McLemore an average of 9.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
