San Diego de Christopher McWeve expanded

San Diego FC signed defender Christopher McWay for a contract expansion through 2027 with an option for 2028.

28 -year -old Sweda joined San Diego last December after MLS Stent with DC United and Inter Miami CF.

McWay has two goals in 20 MLS matches this season. He has four goals in 97 career matches (92 starts) with Miami (2022–23), DC United (2024) and San Diego.

Sporting Director Tyler Heips said in a news release on Wednesday, “Cris Day One is the foundation stone for our rescue.” “His continuity and appearance on the back line played an important role for our early success. We are thrilled to sign a contract expansion and are ready to contribute his continuous contribution to San Diego FC.”

San Diego currently leads the Western Conference with 39 points (12–5-3), one point ahead of Vancouver Whitcaps.
