Kyle Freeland was coming in a good rhythm for Colorado Rockies before entering the injured list in mid -June.

The left -handed batsman started three consecutive quality and dropped his era by more than half runs, but after coming from Il, his first start broke that string of good outing.

When he wraps the three-game series of Colorado against Houston Astro on Thursday, the Freeland will try to go back to the track. Houston will send the laftty brandon Walter to the mound.

Astro organized another ninth innings rally by Rockies to win 5-3 on Wednesday. Houston has captured the first two matches of the series, combining the colorado’s domestic crises. The Rockies has lost all 14 home series this season. He has won only two series, lost 26 and did not divide anyone in 2025.

Freeland (1-9, 5.56 ERA) allowed him a total of six earned runs in its three quality, before the low back stiffness sidelined him. He returned to Milwauki on Friday and was tagged for six runs on eight hits in four innings. All runs came in their final frame, spoiling a solid start to their outing.

“I liked. I was feeling healthy there,” Freeland said Postgame. “I felt that I am filling the zone, doing a good job. Unfortunately, that fourth innings only took me down with ground balls and some base hits, and then he walked there by the big house (Broverrs Center Fielder Jackson) Chaurio.”

Despite its records, freeland has been a theme of rumors before the deadline at the end of the month. He has shown in the past that he may be a top-rotting pitcher, especially in 2018, when he moved ahead of 17–7 with 2.85 ERA and finished fourth in the National League Sai Young Award Voting.

In his career against Astros, Freeland is 0–2 with 4.38 ERAs at the beginning.

Walter (1–1, 3.34 ERA) has never encountered Colorado in its small career, with five starts since its start on 20 May. He won his first win in his latest outing, when he placed the Chicago cub on one run in six innings on Friday night.

Astros suffered another injury on Wednesday when Jake Mayors took a Jake Bird Fastball for the ribs in the sixth innings. However, the mayors remained in the game. It was a similar landscape on how Jeremy Pena was hurt on Friday, and the shortstop landed in the injured list with a fragmented rib.

Despite the absence of Penna and Yordon Alverez (fracture right hand), Houston continues to win.

Astros Manager Joe Espada said, “I like how our team is answering anything.” “This is how we roll. This is how we do it. There is no way around it. The teams are not going to feel sorry for us. I hope the players will be ready to play.

“We have some really good players, people who are waiting to get the opportunity to play, and we will find ways to win. Coming here and sing a sad song, which is going to help.”
