Daniel Suarez excited after trackhouse split

Daniel Suarez, the only Mexican-born driver to win the national series at the NASCAR event, will not return to Trackhouse Racing in 2026.
Trackhouse and Suarez have called Bidai a “mutual decision” that gives an experienced driver a chance to provide another opportunity for the next season. Trackhouse did not name a replacement in number 99 Chevrolet.
Talking to Siriusxm Nascar Radio, Suarez said: “This is just a new chapter. It is all … It’s not a sad moment. It’s just a change and it happens.”
Suarez said that it was not a sudden decision: “I know about it for some time. … I am really a little relieved that it is out and people know about it and we can talk about it and we can talk about it and we can move forward with future plans and continue working. I am excited for what comes ahead.”
33 -year -old Suarez has won two races in 305 cups of start. This is his fifth season with trackhouse racing, and he has made the playoffs twice. His best season was in 2022, when he finished 10th and won his first cup series race. He finished 12th in the last season, winning his second race in the process. In this season, he sits at 29th position in the points standing.
In 2024, became an American citizen, Suarez also won the 2016 Championship in the Exfinity Series, a step below the cup series, and there are three wins at that level. He also has a truck chain. He made a victorious comeback in his home country on 14 June, winning the race for the Xfinity series in Mexico City and driving for junior motorsports at Autodromeo Harmanos Rodriguez.
When the trackhouse came into existence as a single-car team in 2021, they brought to Suarez, who used to run for the first gibs racing and stewart-thrill racing.
Suarez wrote on X, “We had not heard any team in 2021 and we were winning the race only in a few years and moving forward on a weekly basis.”
Suarez’s departure opened the door to a trackhouse to promote a potential star in the Connor Zilisk, waiting in the wings. Zilisch JR drives in the Xfinity series for motoristsports. No announcement has been made, but hopes are to replace Suarez in the zilisk trackhouse.
In trackhouse racing, Ross Chastain and Shane Van Gisbergen are also under contract, with zilisk as their growth driver.
Trackhouse founder and owner Justin Marx thanked Suarez for his contribution: “Daniel played a role in the trackhouse Orizine Story and the first five years will be a valuable part of the history of the company,” Marx said.
