Shubman Gill Dhoni, goes ahead of Rahen in the list of hundreds

With his centenary in Birmingham, Shubman Gill has overtaken MS Dhoni and Ajinkya Rahane in the list of hundreds for India.

India cricket team captain Shubman Gill slammed his 16th century on Wednesday in ENG vs IND 2nd Test at Edgbaston. The number 4 batter stayed unbeaten on 114 runs at the end of play on Day 1, guiding India to 310/5 at stumps. The century in the 1st innings in Birmingham is Gill’s second in this series, having scored a ton in the 1st innings of the Leeds Test as well.

Gill overtakes Dhoni, Rahane on elusive list

Gill has 16 hundreds to his name across formats of the game – 7 in Tests, 8 in ODIs and one in T20Is. With his century in Birmingham, the Indian Test captain has overtaken former India skippers MS Dhoni and Ajinkya Rahane on the list of most hundreds for India in all formats. Both captains have 16 centuries to their name.

Overall, Gill is currently ranked 16th on the list of Indians with most hundreds. KL Rahul is the only other active player who has more centuries than the Indian captain. At the top of the list is none other than Sachin Tendulkar who has 100 hundreds to his name.
