RCB notice BCCI, the next IND vs Pak match date and Mushir Sarfaraz Khan?

Welcome to our special section, DRS or daily review system. In this, Insidesport will provide you with top cricket stories a day in advance, which you must have missed the movement of your busy life.

The first day of the India vs England 1st Test was eventful. Shubman Gill scored a hundred. Sai Sudharsan and Shardul Thakur were dropped. Jasprit Bumrah was rested, and Gautam Gambhir was questioned for it. In other parts of England, Musheer Khan showed his excellence in first-class cricket. BCCI has written to RCB and the ACC has written to BCCI, about two separate things. And the Champions League T20 might make a return.

Why did Gambhir rest Bumrah?

Two former Indian captains, Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri, aren’t pleased with Gautam Gambhir’s decision to rest Jasprit Bumrah at Edgbaston. Already down 0-1, India needs to level the series or it’ll be too late to come back. Gavaskar labelled the decision ‘baffling’, while Shastri said the move was ‘hard to believe’.

Gill following Kohli’s path

Shubman Gill has become the fourth Indian Test captain to score hundreds in their first two matches as skipper. The last one to do so was Virat Kohli and guess what? He was 26 at the time, just like Gill. With India 211/5, the Indian captain needed to take matters into his own hands and did so rather wonderfully. He scored his slowest fifty, 125 balls, and then put the foot on the pedal to score his next fifty runs in 74 balls.

BCCI sends show cause notice to RCB

The BCCI has issued show cause notices to RCB and KSCA for ‘gross negligence’ and ‘violation of safety norms’ in connection with the Bengaluru stampede. During the celebration of RCB’s maiden IPL trophy run, a stampede occurred in and around the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which led to the death of 11 people and left more than 50 injured. BCCI feels both bodies are to blame for it and has given them 4 weeks to reply.

No IND vs PAK in Asia Cup?

July 2 started with an update regarding the schedule of the Asia Cup 2025. September 7 was expected to be the date for an India vs Pakistan match. But by the end of the day, it came out that the BCCI hasn’t confirmed their participation yet and the ACC demands a quick answer from them.

Musheer Khan better than Sarfaraz?

20-year-old Musheer Khan might end up with a better career than his 8-year senior brother Sarfaraz Khan. Playing in his first first-class match since his accident last year, Musheer scored a hundred and took a 6-wicket haul in the MCA Colts vs Notts Second XI match. Having already played in the Duleep Trophy, Musheer could outdo his brother in years to come.

Champions League T20 is back

Champions League T20 could make a re-entry with a new name, World Club Championship, in 2026. The T20 tournament, which saw the best teams from different franchise leagues play against each other, was scrapped in 2015 but is likely to return after 11 years. Since every big nation has a T20 tournament now, the Champions League T20 would be bigger and better.
