Number 2 Seed Carlos Alakraj makes ease in the third round in Wimbledon

Wimbledon champion Carlos Alkaraz defeated the British qualifier Oliver Tarvet 6–1, 6-4, 6-4 to defeat the third round in London on Wednesday to reach the third round in London.

The second seed Spanieng killed 38 winners, saved nine out of 11 break points and raised his winning streak at All England Club to 16 matches. His overall winning line has reached the best 20 matches of a career.

“When I step into court, I am just trying to enjoy,” Alakraj said after the victory. “It doesn’t matter whether I am winning or losing. It is important for the last two or three months, with consistently winning lines, and I am just enjoying.”

It was only the second career match on the ATP tour for the 21 -year -old Tarvet, which was at number 733 in the world.

“I have to praise Oliver … I just love his game, to be honest,” said Alakraj. “The level he played in the first match on the center court, I know that it is really difficult, he showed very good tennis. I knew that initially I had to focus really, I had to play my best tennis. Today I just played the great tennis and I am really happy with my game today.”

This was not all bad news for the fans of the household as unheard local favorite Cameron Nori won 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 7-5 over 12th seed Frances Tiafo.

Nori won 76 percent of his first service, highlighted 17 aces, with the match over within three hours.

“I saw the program when I was really happy,” Nori said. “I saw that I was in a court and this is my favorite court. It’s a wonderful atmosphere and we both played a really high level.

“This is very special. You forget so soon. You just feel cow pumps. This is a special court and such a special tournament. I just went out and smiled as much as possible.”

Nori proved to be better close, winning the last two matches in the second set and the last three in the third and the last three in the fourth.

In addition, on Wednesday, 18-year-old Joao Fonseca of Brazil won 6-4, 5-7, 6–2, 6-4 over Jenson Brooksbi, who arrived in the third round since Bernard Tomic in 2011.

Fonseka upgraded to face qualifier Nicholas Zari, who won 6–2, 6–2, 6-3 over 19-year-old learner TN.

Also on Wednesday, number 14 Seed Andry Rublev and number 17 Karen Khachanov Advanced. Rubalav defeated South African Lloyd Harris 6-7 (1), 6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-3 and Khachanov defeated Shintaro Mochizuki of Japan 1-6, 7-6 (7), 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. No. 29 Brandon Nakashima won 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (1), 6-4 over Yankokete Boo in China.

Other winners included Frenchman Adrian Mannarino and Nuno Borges of Portugal.
