Charaith is involved in Asanka Slams Century, Virat Kohli in Elite List, Sachin Tendulkar

Charith Asalanka continued his red-hot form in ODI cricket with a stunning show at Colombo on Wednesday. The Sri Lanka captain played a leader’s knock in a fighting century in the SL vs BAN 1st ODI. It was his 5th ODI century and his fourth at Colombo, joining the likes of Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar for most hundreds at the venue.

Charith Asalanka continued his good form in ODI cricket with a stunning century against Bangladesh on Wednesday. Coming into bat after Sri Lanka slipped to 29/3, Asalanka rescued his side with a fine innings. It was his second century in 3 innings, having slammed a century against Australia earlier this year. His 106 helped the hosts put on 244, with Asalanka the only batter to score 50 or more.

It was his 4th century at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The left-hander now has the joint most centuries at the venue. Virat Kohli leads the charts with 4 centuries in 13 innings, averaging a mind-boggling 78. The others with 4 centuries at Sanath Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar. Asalanka achieved the feat in 21 innings and averages 55.66 at the venue. He also went past 1000 runs at the ground.
