Report: NFLPA will not discuss the 18-game season, until at least 2026 ‘

NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodll have overtaken about the league that expands the regular-limit time of the 18-game in their future, but according to sources, the NFL Players Association is not yet ready to discuss it.

According to a report by the Washington Post, on Tuesday, NFLPA is not expected to negotiate “at least until the beginning of next year”, potentially with the owners of the NFL and team.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, “The cause of delay is not clear.”

Goodll and team owners are emphasizing for an extended program to improve the status of the league from a media rights point of view, especially in the preparation of a new media package on the line. Goodll has also reported that the league would like to expand the number of international sports to at least 16.

From the perspective of the NFLPA, the added sports and additional travel brings clear players for safety concerns.

Nevertheless, it is believed that the extended schedule is an imperative. This is just one thing that when the NFLPA will be ready to discuss and interact. The current collective bargain agreement (CBA) is ending after the 2030 season.
