Number 7 Seed Lorenzo Musetti became the latest top seeds to lose in the first round at Wimbledon, but his partner left in Italian, World No.1 Jannik Cinner, London in the next round on Tuesday.
In 2024, Musetti, a semi-finalist in Wimbledon, lost 6–2, 4-6, 7-5, 6–1 to Urjer’s qualifier Nicolose Basilshwili. For Basilshwili, this was his first win over a top 10 player in a major and came in a day, with the temperature expected to exceed 91 degrees.

Argentina’s Mariano Neon defeated Canada’s Dennis Shapovalov, number 27 seeds in four sets. After winning the fifth set tiebreaker, Miomir Kekmanovic of Serbia, number 30 seeds, excluded American Alex Micelsen.
