Royals are set to send veteran Michael Vacha (4-7, 3.33 ERA) on the mound on Monday to face Seattle’s George Kirby (1-4, 5.40) in the right matchup.
Vacha suffered a 3–0 defeat on Wednesday despite the quality of quality-against a three-run-Tampa Bay visit on nine hits in innings. He is 2-3 with 5.59 ERAs in 37 innings at the beginning of eight careers against Seattle.
Kirby allowed just one run on three hits in six innings on Wednesday in a 2–0 defeat in Minnesota. He is 1–0 with 2.25 ERA in 20 innings in the last three innings against Royals.
