Compulsory Credit: Stephen Bresier-Imagon Picture Jesus Ferrera had a target and a support as Seattle Sounders returned to play MLS with a 2–0 win against Austin FC on Saturday night.
Danny Mussavski also scored a goal and goalkeeper Stephen Free saved a shutout for the sounders (8-6-5, 29 points), who took away the lose of five matches in all competitions-three of which are coming against three international powers, Botfogo Madrid and Paris-Germain. FREI has 999 services in his sounders’ career, making them only a shy to become the second goalkeeper in league history, only behind the former Real Salt Lake Standout Nick Remando, to save 1,000 for the same franchise.
Mussovsky gave the scorer Lakir a 2–0 lead in the 54th minute. Ferrera sent a long lead pass to Mussovski on the retaliation, in which the ball was drowned in the penalty area and closed from inside the left post before putting a 12-yard shot through the feet of the defender Olexander Swatok.
Ferreira opened scoring during the first half stop time. The sounders won just one 50–50 balls of midfield at their end of the pitch and Albert Rusak sent Paul Rothrocrock to the Left Wing. The midfielder entered the penalty area before sending the cross to the remote position for Pharera, with a 5 yard of 5 yards, a fry-star goalkeeper Brad Stuver gave all-star goer Brad Stuver without any chance.
Stuver saved four for Austin (7-8–5, 26 points), with a two-match winning line.
The sounders took an almost lead in the 11th minute as Mussovski put a shot from the left side of the penalty area between the feet of the Stuver, but the goalkeeper simply got enough for the ball that it removed the left post before reciting in the middle of the 6-yard box. Defender Guilharmaye Biro scored a single goal on the rebound, in which his attempt cleared the same left post.
Austin’s alone shot on the goal came in the 34th minute after a deep turnover at his end of a sounders turnover. The 17-yard shot of the Brandon Vazezer was rescued by a well-deployed Free, which fell on his knees to make a catch near the right post.
