The 3-way deadlock continues in the US Senior Open

Padraig Harrington saw his tea shot on the ninth hole during the Kaulig Company Championship: On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, AM at Firestone Country Club in Acrone

Three golfers were tied above the leaderboard, coming to the US Senior Open during the day. And by the end of the day on Saturday at the Broadmur Golf Club in Colorado Springs, the same three golfers continued to share the lead.

For the tournament in the final round of 8-under 202, Ireland’s Padrig Harrington and Australia’s Mark Hensbi shot 2-under-Burbar 68s matching the 2-under-Burbar 68 in an air day.

“I felt that we all had really played the same,” Sink said. “No, I am not surprised. The level of golf is really high on the PGA Tour Champion and especially in such a tournament, and you have really found to play good golf, even in the mixture, too little win.”

Sink and Harrington matched the speed of each other, keeping four shovedies in a strong position on the front nine. Still each struggled on nine.

The sink, chasing his second win of a strong 2025 season, could not be equal again, hole 13 and 16 bogies suffer.

“We were going to it (early),” Sink said. “We had forgotten which hole was Burdies made. It was a good thing. Unfortunately, it was not more than one and two holes because the back was slightly more – it played more difficult, but it was also a little scrapier.

It was a lot for Harrington, who won the event in 2022, as a disastrous double bogie at 12, followed by a bogie at 15, before he survived to save a part of the lead to save a shirt on 18.

“It is always great for the chip,” said Harrington. “It was great for the chip on the last hole. It was straight on green, but I was chipping against the grain. There was a lot of grain on that slope. So it was never easy to get good contact.

“Yes, I was very happy with the chip, and it was a big bonus in which it went away.”

Hensbi, which was also equal through eight holes, stepped behind Para -5, 547 -Yard ninth and stepped behind Harrington. But his three-shot Eagle put him in a proper dispute. He maintained speed with bogey at 10 and 17 and back-to-back beadies at 13 and 14.

“Listen, when you get two great players (Herrington and Sinks), as they start, as they did, you expect it to a certain extent, but I just felt that I just felt that I have just met and trying to play my game and can just do the best that I can do all day and see what happens,” Hannbby said. “Fortunately, some things started going in my way, got some good brakes, and yes.”

Thomas Byorn of Denmark, who was the three strokes behind the leaders on Friday, is now just one stroke behind his 4-under 66, putting them in a single fourth place. Bjorn is chasing its second win (American Family Insurance Championship) of the season.

Four of the leaders are the only other golfer Steve Flesh within four, who made a stroke with his 3-under 67 and sat alone in the fifth.

Australia’s Steven Alker (66), Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimanez (68) and Paul Stankovski (67) have a 3-way tie in sixth place.
