Red Sox restored LHP Chris Murphy after Tommy John Surgery

Boston Red Sox restored left -handed player Chris Murphy in an active roster after Tommy John surgery and placed the right -handed Luis Gurero on the injured list with elbow stress on Saturday.

To get Murphy on the 60-day injured list and 40-man roster, the right-hand Justin Slaton (shoulder) was transferred to 60-day.

27-year-old Murphy started her major league in 2023 and 20 with 4.91 ERA in relief outing beyond 1-2.

24-year-old Gurero, this season was 0–1 with 4.15 ERA in 13 relief outings and 2.63 ERA in 22 career outings with Boston in the last two years.

27-year-old Slaton, before going on IL on 1 June, was 1–4 with 3.47 Era in 24 relief appearances. It is 7-6 with 3.09 era in 68 relief presence in two sessions with red sox.
