Prasidh Krishna gave Shubman Gill on 10/10 Test Captain Debut, rotated, which is said by Bumrah and others

Gill received an inquiry on the field about intensity and clarity, the bowlers’ rotation and the poor plan.
Shubman Gill’s tactics during the Headingley Test were questioned. Many felt he underbowled Shardul Thakur, especially in the first innings. Questions were raised over his usage of bowlers in the second innings. Why didn’t Mohammed Siraj bowl from the 42nd to the 79th over in the second innings for some reason? Why wasn’t Jasprit Bumrah given the new ball?
Prasidh Krishna heaps praise on captain Gill
These are valid criticisms. But Prasidh Krishna feels that Shubman Gill did a fine job on his Test captaincy debut. The tall fast bowler pointed out that he, Siraj, and Bumrah were given adequate breaks to ensure they didn’t tire. Considering it’s a five-match series, fitness becomes paramount. And on this front, Gill did a good job.
Prasidh said plans are set in place by Gill and the management, and everyone has been communicated with regarding their specific roles.
“About Shubman — yeah, I think he did a pretty good job. All of us saw how he rotated the bowlers, made sure everyone got enough breaks and brought bowlers in at the right times. He spotted opportunities and used the right bowlers accordingly. All of that was great. And knowing him, he created a very good atmosphere around the team. He’s been speaking to all of us. We always go in with a plan, and the communication is happening there,” Prasidh told reporters in Birmingham.
No issues in the dressing room
The pacer says the dressing room isn’t dejected. Losing the first Test hasn’t dispirited them. Everyone remains motivated to do well in the remaining four games and reading too much into the body language from the outside isn’t a fair representation of the team.
“The dressing room is still positive, happy, and very, very motivated. Like I said, we came here knowing what this opportunity meant for all of us. And even in the game today, we might have looked quiet at times, but I think we still had a plan,” he said.
