After finishing his three-game losing streak, Colorado Rapids will rolling up when they visit the New England Revolution in Foxboro, Mass on Saturday.
Rapids (7-8–4, 25 points) on Wednesday dropped out of their recession with a 2–0 domestic win over Los Angeles Galaxy. Although Galaxy took advantage of 63.9 percent occupation and 14–8 shots, Colorado’s defense remained stable for the third shutout of the club in its last six matches.
Rapids coach Chris Armas said, “collectively, the team handled the moments of transition (Galaxy’s attacks) well … cleverly we clung to it, and personally people lifted their weight.”
Djordje Mihailovic and Calvin Harris each scored within a gap of five minutes in the first half, with an aggressive explosion by recent standards of Colorado. Rapids was scored one or less in each of his last nine matches.
Crime may continue on premium on Saturday. Colorado (20 goals) and New England (21 goals) are two of the two lower scoring teams of both the league, and the revolution has allowed any club’s lowest goal (18) in MLS.
Protecting strong ravs is coming away from an unwanted breakdown, as Sam Sariz on Wednesday made a hat trick against New England in a 3–2 victory for Nashville SC. The revolution (6-6-5, 23 digits) was leading twice before the Sirij, and the last goal of the Star Forward came to the penalty kick in the 58th minute.
From such disappointing disadvantages, “You want the next (match) as soon as possible,” said midfielder Jackson Eug.
“We want to answer … We want to be better at home, so this is another opportunity on Saturday.”
After an unbeaten line (5-0-4) of nine matches in a regular-season game, New England has now lost their last two matches at home. The revolution is 2–4–1 in its own area this season, and the rapids are 2–4–2 on the road.
The New England is 5–0-1 in its last six domestic matches against Colorado. Rapids has not won in Foxboro since April 24, 2010.
Mihailovic leads colorado in goals (eight) and target contributions (11). Carls Gill leads the revolution in both targets (six) and aid (five).
