Kevin Roy, Aldrich Potgiator shot 62S to open rocket classic

Kevin Roy and South Africa’s Aldrich Potgiator shot each shot 10-under-par62 to break the single-round scoring record at the Detroit Golf Club and take the first round lead in the rocket classic on Thursday.
Roy and Potugator have only a-shot lead over Mark Hubard, Max Greeserman and Australia’s Min Wu Lee, who opened the tournament with a 9-under 63 era. Andrew Putnam is behind 8-under 64.
Roy finished his round eagle-Burdy for the back-nine 30, while the Potugator started his round at nine and posted 7-under 29 with five Birds and one eagle.
They are in different stages of their career, but Roy, 35, and 20 -year -old Potgiators, are in hunting for their first win on PGA Tour.
Fan favorite Lee rolled three straight Birds in 7-9 to finish his round. He is contesting elections in Detroit exactly four days after his sister, Minaji Lee, won his third career LPGA chief in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
The 7-under-under 65 were 49-year-old Zach Johnson, who captained the US Rider Cup team in 2023. Vyadham Clarke and Patrick Cantley 6-under 66 were among the notes.
The upcoming Rider Cup captain Keagan Bradley, who is winning a signature event at the Travelers Championship on Sunday, shot 4-inner 68.
Australia’s defending champion Came Davis opened with 2-over 74 and the cut with 2023 champion Ricky Fauler is in danger of disappearance, with 1-under 71 left him to 108th.
