Mercury Ride Five-Game Streak in Clash with Liberty

On a season-Best five-game winning line, Phoenix Mercury will be out to continue his revival on hosting defending champions New York Liberty on Friday.

The most prestigious victory in his line came in New York on 19 June when Monon Akaa Makani scored a team-high 21 points and Elisa Thomas gave 18 points with 15 rebounds.

Mercury (11–4) shot only 41.7 percent from the floor in winning, but won with his defense that converted 20 New York Turnover into 19 points.

Phoenix’s most recent victory occurred on Saturday when crime attracted attention to the 107–86 road win over Chicago Akash. In the victory of a house over the sky on 27 May, the mercury topped the high level of 94 points in the last season of the mercury.

Breanna Stewart scored 23 points against Valkyries with 10 rebounds and Kennedy Burke scored 20 points from the bench. Sabarina INESCU scored 11 points, but had 1 out of 7 from the 3-point range in her Bay area home return.

“We are flexible,” Stewart said. “There are many things that are happening in our team and we keep fighting through it, whether it is on the floor.”

The disadvantage of last week’s home for Phoenix was 1 out of 10 from long distance, playing through a neck injury, making him 2 out of 17 (11.8 percent) on 3-point attempts in the last two matches. She is shooting 31.8 percent career-cum from the distance.

Jonquale Jones (12.1 points, 9.6 rebounds per game) has missed the right ankle for New York in the last two matches and is expected to be remembered in another month.
