Started at nine, 26-year-old Australians opened a bandi-bogi, then closed nine birdies in the next 16 holes. He closed the club house in the initial wave with three consecutive shoes to take the lead.
Lee has a PGA tour win, which came to the Texas Children Houston Open in March.
Andrew Putnam shot a 64, with a stroke back in the early group, followed by Lee Hodes and Zach Johnson, who was 7-inwards after the 65 round.
