Jofra Archer announced Squad for India’s Test as England’s announcement, Gas Atkinson still injured

Archer played his last Test match against India in February 2021.
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced the team for a second test against India in Edgbaston. Prior to the Headingley Test, a 14-man team was named. All the players who were part of the squad for the first game, will continue, and Jofra Archer, who recently played his first class match in 4 years, has been added.
Jofra Archer Back, Gas Atkinson missing
Due to continuous injury issues, Archer did not play a red-ball match in 1501 days. But earlier this week, he returned to the County Championship for Surrey. Jofra scored 31 runs with the bat and bowled a frugal 18-over spell against Durham along with one wicket.
England selector Luke Wright said that England’s test was on the card for Jofra. He had said that Pesar’s fitness would be detected only after playing in the county championship. After a game, it seems that Archer Test is ready for cricket. He urged England captain Ben Stokes to bring him to the field against Zimbabwe, but he dropped it down. A month later, he is back in the Test fold.
A name missing from the squad is Gus Atkinson. The Right-Arm Fast Bowler suffered a single match against Zimbabwe, suffering from Hamstring and was dropped from the West Indies White-Ball Series and First India vs England Test. It was expected that he would return to another game but it seems that he has not recovering.
