In a candid interview, he shared that the Indian team was still stung by their heartbreaking loss to Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final on November 19, a day he said was “ruined” for the entire nation.

“We were angry and this thing was in the back of everyone’s mind that the Australians ruined our November 19th. Not only ours but the day was spoiled for the entire nation. This is when we thought that we should give a gift to them in the T20 World Cup,” Rohit said in the video.
