Rohit Sharma described Australia in T20 World Cup 2024 as the reason behind thrashing

India faced Australia in their final Super 8 matches to book their place in the semi -finals of the T20 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma didn’t hold back when he revealed the fire behind India’s emphatic win over Australia in the 2024 T20 World Cup. In a candid interview, he shared that the Indian team was still stung by their heartbreaking loss to Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final on November 19, a day he said was “ruined” for the entire nation.

We were angry and this thing was in the back of everyone’s mind that the Australians ruined our November 19th. Not only ours but the day was spoiled for the entire nation. This is when we thought that we should give a gift to them in the T20 World Cup,” Rohit said in the video.

India faced Australia in their final Super 8 match to book their place in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup. The Aussies need to win the match to remain in contention for making it to the final four, as they suffered a shock defeat to Afghanistan. However, the loss to India meant that it was Afghanistan and Rohit and his men who went through, and the Aussies were sent packing.

After defeating Australia, India faced England in the semi-final and completed a one-sided win. In the final, South Africa was close to breaking India’s World Cup dream again, but Rohit Sharma and Co. made a remarkable in the last 5 overs and clinched the T20 World Cup after 17 years.
