A knee injury has prevented Cutter Crofford from starting 2025 for Boston Red Sox, but recently another disease is expected to bypass the right hand pitcher for the rest of the season.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday before the conclusion of his team series at Los Angeles Angels, Boston’s manager Alex Kora said Crofford would undergo the right wrist surgery and “probable” for the year.
29 -year -old Crawford opened the season in the injured list with Wright Pateller Tendinopathy. He fought through a knee injury throughout the 2024 season, during which he picked in a career-high 33 start and 183 2/3 innings. The winter suffered injuries with treatment in winter before spring training.
According to Kora, Crawford injured his wrist in an off-field incident, although the manager did not provide additional details in addition to emphasizing that it was not due to irresponsible activity. Kora first mentioned Crawford’s latest injury, while Red Sox was in San Francisco in the weekend, given that the pitcher was flying to Boston for an MRI on his wrist.
In parts of the four season with Boston (2021-24), Crawford with 18-31 (69 start) in 86 games with 4.56 ERA, 118 walks and 389 strikes, including a career-Best 175 in 2024.
