The dominance of the Western Conference will be on the line on Wednesday night when the expansion will visit San Diego FC Vancouver Whitcaps.

The upstart San Diego (10–5–3, 33 points) is 6–1-0 to transfer within two points of Vancouver (10–2-5, 35 points) in its last seven MLS matches, which records 6–1-2 at home in this season.

So is the expansion club giving more emphasis on this struggle with Whatcap?

“I honestly did not think about it once before we brought it,” told reporters, Mickey Varas, head coach of FC of San Diego. “Now I am thinking about it.

“… we are not thinking further because football does not work like this. You have to stay here at the present moment, how we want to play, build its identity. And then, when the game comes, you are ready for sports.”

Anders Draer was particularly ready for San Diego’s last game. He collected two goals and one assistance in San Diego’s 4–2 victory on Minnesota United on 14 June, to promote his MLS-Agni target contribution for 17 (eight goals, league-best nine assists), which was before Inter Miami’s Landon Donovan MVP Lionel Messi (10 goals, six Assists).

The Danish attacker scored a possible goal of the year candidate of the year, converting the penalty in the 66th minute to complete his brace and established the original Milan Iloki of San Diego for the first two of the two later goals.
