All-star Whit Merified Retired three times after 9 seasons

Whit Merified, three-time MLB All-Star, who last played for Atlanta Braves in 2024, declared his retirement on Tuesday after nine years in the Big League.

In a statement issued through his agency, Warner Sports Management, Merifild cited her family – that is, as a daughter -away going in March 2024.

“I was never enough to show and play,” Merifild said. “Baseball required my full attention and energy to me to compete at that level, and I think I can no longer make that effort.

“At this point in life, I will chase around a child compared to chase sliders.”

The 36 -year -old Infielder, in 2010, in the ninth round of Canasus City Royals, spent more than six sessions in a minor league before starting its major league at the age of 27 in 2016. Merified finished her career with 1,249 hits-94 domestic runs and 256 doubles-and 1,147 games include a .280 batting average.

He led the American League in the stolen bases three times, completing his career with 218 swipes.

“Since I have now taken some time out of the game, I have got a chance to reflect my personal career for the first time in my life,” said Merifild. “I am proud of myself. The cruelty that I have developed and the things I was able to complete, no one was possible outside my camp.”

Merifled quickly established himself as a prominent player for the Canasus City after her call-up, earning an MVP vote in 2018, which was after a career-secretant .304 batting. He did it with a .302 season in 2019, highlighted by his first All-Star Node. He added a third in 2021 and a third all-star selection as a member of Toronto Blue Jais in 2023.

Merifilde signed with Philadelphia Phils in 2024, but was released after batting in 53 games. He finished the year with Braves, with whom he hit. 248.

“I loved all moments,” said Merified. “All heights and even all climbs. I am grateful for the way the game molds. I can’t wait one day to tell my daughter my story.”
