It was only a couple of days back that India keeper-batsman Ishan Kishan joined County club Nottinghamshire, on a two-match contract, and now, on his debut he has smashed a fifty against Yorkshire, on Monday at Trent Bridge. The dashing batter came into bat at No. 6, and got to the milestone in only 57 deliveries, with the help of eight fours.
What was even more impressive is, he got to his 50 with back-to-back fours against New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke. Not just that, Ishan Kishan also forged a decent partnership with Liam Patterson-White, that took his team over 300 easily. Interestingly, the Indian came into bat when Ben Slater got out for 96, with the score reading 225/4.
As far as the overall match is concerned, Nottinghamshire decided to bat first on a good pitch. Apart from Slater’s exploits, his opening partner Haseeb Hameed also went on to score 52. Freddie McCann chipped in with 23 from 17 deliveries only, while skipper Joe Clarke could only score 31.
As far as the bowling effort from Yorkshire is concerned, pacer George Hill was the pick of the bowler, as he returned with figures of 2/53. Also, Nottinghamshire are leading the points table in the County Championships, 115 points in 7 matches, having won 4. Yorkshire are on 9th spot with 59 points against their name.
