Leon Belly and Jonathan Russell scored shortly before Haftime, making Jamaica win 2–1 over Guadeloop on Friday, in a ConcacAF Gold Cup match in San Jose, California.
Guadeloop jumped on top for a goal of Theory Ambrose in the 32nd minute, but could not maintain the lead.
The result was required for Jamaica (1-1-0, 3 digits), who lost his initial match to Guatemala 1-0 on Monday in Group C. Later on Friday, Guatemala faced Panama, who won 5–2 over Guadeloop (0–2–0, 0 points) in his group C opener.
In the 41st minute, Warner set Bailey for the left foot shot right above the penalty spot at the top of the 18-yard box of Brown. Belly fired the ball into the net on the right side of the Guadeloch goalkeeper Bryce Cagnard and level the score 1–1.
Jamaica went in front in the fourth minute of the first half stoppage time. Demarai Gray drowned in the box from the left flank and gave a cross that Russell led a boom.
The goal of Ambrose was the result of a well-working corner-kan routine, as he took a pass in the 18-yard box from Noah Cadiou and rolled the ball in the left corner of the bottom.
Jamaica will face Panama in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, at the same time when Guadelop will oppose Guatemala in Houston.
