Liberty All-Star Center Jonquel Jones (Ankle sprain) out of 4-6 weeks

The New York Liberty All-Star Center Jonquel Jones will be sidelined for four to six weeks due to a right ankle, the team announced on Saturday night.

31-year-old Jones injured Phoenix mercury on Thursday night in the second quarter of a loss of 89–81. He turned the same ankle on 5 June in a 86-78 win over Washington mystics on 5 June.

Liberty said on social media, “After further imaging and evaluation, Jonquale avoided a long -term injury, and is expected to return to sports action in about 4 to 6 weeks.”

Jones are in average 12.1 points, 9.6 rebounds (third in the league), 2.3 aid, 1.1 blocks and 22.9 minutes in nine sports (all introduced) in this season.

For his career, Jones an average of 13.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.9 aid, 1.3 blocks and 284 regular-season games (237 start starting 237) 25.4 minutes.

The league was the most valuable player for the five-time all-star 2021 season and New York captured the WNBA title as the 2024 final MVP.

The Liberty (10-2) visit the Seattle Storm on Sunday.
