Grant Homes, Braves closed Marlins’ Not Series

Ruki Drake Baldwin had two hits, including three-run domestic runs, and Grant Holmes threw a 5 2/3 scorer innings to help the Atlanta Braves after a 7–0 win over Miami Marlins on Saturday.

Holmes (4-6) allowed five hits, walked from five and hit five for Atlanta, who won eight out of 11 after the seven-game losing streak to start from June. Ronald Ekuna Junior and Marsel Ozuna prolonged each and a pair of RBI as Braves also covered the three-game series.

Eury Perez (0–2) allowed three runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings, attacked six and ran two in their third beginning of the season. Eric Wagaman and Jesus Sanchez each recorded a double for Marlins, who lost three of the four.

After Acuna worked four-round walk to open the game, Ozuna ran two-outs in the first run on RBI double to right.

Atlanta doubled its lead in fifth place, as Nick Elon single-handed and Ekuna to the left with a run-scoring double. Perez eliminated Matt Olson after 89 pitches to Matt Olson. Lake Bachcher came into relief, allowing the RBI single of Austin Riley to increase the lead of Braves 3–0.

Miami loaded the hideouts by Xavier Edwards and Sanchez in the form of an out of Dane Myers at the bottom of the fifth and two consecutive-out walks, but Holmes killed Augustin Ramirez to end the innings.

After issuing a two-out walk to Liam Hicks in the sixth, Holmes was relieved by Anel de Los Santos, who retired Connor Norbi on a groundout.

The brave was faced by Baldwin and Elli White on one run in the eighth as a single, followed by Michael Harris II’s RBI Groundout against Reluver Josh Simpson, who was starting his major league.

The game was blown into the ninth place as Simpson had gone to Baldwin Ekuna and Ozuna before moving 7–0 to expand the lead of Atlanta on his eighth homer.
