Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah set new records, but England took advantage of Oli Pope tons.
After dominating day 1, India benefited England at 2 on the day 2 on the IND vs ENG 1st test in Leeds. Jasprit Bumrah was once again India’s best bowler as the visitors were disappointed by his fielding. Rishabh Pant broke another army ton, Shubman Gill remembers 150
Rishabh Pant resumed at 65, took a measured approach on day 1. The wicketkeeper maintained runs at the beginning of the day 2 days, raising the boundaries regularly. He became a particle against Shoaib Bashir, collapsing for six to go in the 90s, to go to his century before one and one. This was his third in England, who visited a wicket-keeper. Gill resumed at 127, adding another 20 runs before catching the deep mid-wicket. The Indian captain tried to expedite and tried to get his first 150+ score in style. This was his highest score in Test cricket, and the second largest at the beginning of his captaincy by an Indian.
Karun Nair returns flat
After 8 years, Sai, like Karun Nair’s return to the Indian team, did not get out well. Nair had the right opportunity to make his innings, exiting to bat with a score of 430/4. However, he was rejected for a four -ball duck. The 33-year-old half-hearted heart performed a complete delivery with Oli Pope, with a stunning catch.

Shubman Gill was batting at 147, Rishabh Pant formed a century. India looked good for a total of 600+. Instead, there was a disappointing collapse transpired. In a good batting position, India slipped from 430/3 to 471 on either side of the lunch break. Visitors lost their last 7 wickets for just 41 runs, making England back in the competition.
Another day, another Jasprit Bumrah show
As he did in Australia, Jasprit Bumrah handled the Indian bowling attack. He hit his first to reject Zak Croly. Then he returned to Ben Docket and then to get the route. He now has 148 wickets in army countries, the most by an Asian Pacer. Bumrah is less than 21 on an average, which is going through Wasim Akram to become one of the great people of the format.
He could have the fourth wicket when he surprised Harry Brook with a bumper. However, the Indian pacer had overseas, which gave the England superstar a reprive. The lack of support for him was struggling to make any success with Mohammad Siraj and Prasad Krishna.
Player of the Day: Oli Pope
The selection of Oli Pope was AA doubt before IND vs. Eng 1st Testing. The Pope struggled for the form to claim with Jacob Bethel with a good show against New Zealand. However, Stokes stuck with the Pope after his 170s against Zimbabwe. The vice-captain repaid that belief with a magnificent century, wearing the Indian attack below.
He shared a significant partnership with both Ben Docket and Joe Root to do the previous 200 guide of England.
