Rishabh Pant crossed MS Dhoni with 7th Test ton, third in England

Rishabh Pant has now scored 7 Test centuries, which has crossed MS Dhoni (6) in the list. It was also the third century of the pants in England.

Rishabh Pant is out in Pant. He should be replaced by Dhruv Jurlel. His location in Test XI is suspicious. Rishabh Pant, the vice-captain of India’s new test, has heard and read many narratives since the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His unconventional style of batting has found both fans and criticism, including Sunil Gavaskar’s foolish, stupid, stupid’s famous Shekhi in Australia. In the IND vs Eng 1st test, the pants had to prove their doubts wrong. And he did so, batting in a conservative way. Pants scored their third Test century in England in England, in their last four innings in England, to cross MS Dhoni (6 Test centuries).

While the commentators continued to remind everyone that Pant was rejected seven times in the 90s, it was never in a hurry to get the triple-tank mark. Ben Stokes tried to attack him to play shots attacking him, but even as soon as the ball suddenly drowned, the pants went on the defensive, in response to the stokes.

Shubman Gill kept reminding the pants to keep his work. Finally, the pants reached its 7th Test century, but not without playing an attacking shot. He took Shob Bashir for 6 to go to his ton and draw a Somarasault festival. This was the second consecutive century of pants, as his last one came to IPL in 2025.

Despite batting on a pitch that had everything for a batsman, the pants were never in a hurry. He tried to play some unconventional shots for a short time. But they were rare opportunities. One of them was his first shot against Ben Stokes when Pant took the England captain for four. His shot scared both Stokes, Shubman Gill and Umpire as the ball traveled between them. But then, he focused on defense as former India captain Sourav Ganguly urged him to do in England. Rishabh Pant hardly went on an attack. Instead, he played a measured innings.

While he focused on defense, no one can stop the pants from playing some unconventional shots. And he did it. On 2 days, Pant took Shoaib Bashir with a reverse scoop for four. In England, now he has the best test average among the current Indian batsmen. In its last four innings in England, the pants scored 50, 146, 57 and in this century. With his century in Headingly, Pant equaled Sourav Ganguly, who also had three tonnes in England.

“So far, India’s largest test batter-keeper. When he was in the 90s, I was worried that he could achieve the 8th 90 of his career. It is just incredible that he has a lot in the 90s! But he is a breath of fresh air. When he came out, it was very good and loved his team. You can see true praise for this, “ Sanjay Manjrekar said on Gehotstar.
