Gold Cup: Costa Rica Dominican Republic on late goal

Costa Rica crossed an early deficit and broke a second-half deadlock with a dramatic Joseimar Alkokar goal in the 85th minute, so that the Dominican Republic could be overcome in the CONCAF Gold Cup play on Wednesday evening in Arlington, Texas.
In the decisive sequence, Manfred Ugalde collected a cross in the center of the ground just out of the 18-yard box. He found Elcokar with a piece of space among the defenders, and Alcocker moved towards the goal before sticking the ball on the goalkeeper Xavier Waldez.
Ugalde constructed a deadlock by converting the penalty kick in the 44th minute, to guess Waldez to the right and to bury it to the left.
Joao Urbage scored runs for the Dominican Republic in the 16th minute. He rescued a Kileel Navs and gave his side a 1-0 lead to the rebound and to knock a right-leg shot.
Mexico (2–0, 6 digits), who later won on Wednesday, proceeded from Costa Rica (2-0, 6 digits) and thanks to Group A a better target difference. Both teams assured both quarterfinal berths, will be square in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Both Suriname (0–2-0, 0 points) and Dominican Republic (0–2-0, 0 points) have been abolished with further controversy over the head matchup with their head in Arlington, Texas.
