Shohei Ohtani started an innings for the first time in almost two years and scored two runs from the leadoff place, as Los Angeles Dojers won 6-3 over San Diego Padress on Monday in a four-game series opener.
Ohtani, who returned to pitching after a second Tommy John process in 2023, started and on a fastball, reaching 100.2 mph at a fastball, gave a run with two hits on 28 pitches in his work loan innings. In the plate, he had RBI double in the third innings and a run-scoring single in the fourth.
Max Munsi had two runs single and Will Smith had two hits as Dozers won their sixth for eight matches, with three wins in that stretch.
Manny Machao hit a domestic run and two RBI for Padress, which fell to 4-8 since June 4-8. Fernando Tatis Junior made two hits of San Diego’s six hits.
San Diego’s right -handed hand dialon seize opened the game with five consecutive strikeouts, one from club records, one from club records, one club record. He ended with nine strikeouts and a walk.
Padress Ohtani got quickly with Tatis and Luis Array’s solo to open the game. Machao gave San Diego a 1-0 lead, flying for a sacrifice fly center.
Dozers covered the game in the third innings, when Andy Pages led a double and Ohtani brought him home with two doubles.
Los Angeles controlled the fourth innings of five runs against Sangharsh (2-6). Munasi’s two-run single gave the Dazers a 3–2 lead before Tommy Edman, Ohtani and Muki Bates, all added RBI singles.
Padress got a run back when Machado cut a home run against the Right-Hand Ben Casperus in the Right-Handon corner, 11th of the season.
Dozers used a seven pitcher with Casperius (5–1), giving two runs on three hits in 3 2/3 innings. Right -handed Kirby Yets started the ninth innings for their second sev.
