Scooty chefler ready to protect the title of Travelers

The Scotty Sheffer did not need any other reminder on his caddy, Ted Scott, Bubba Watson’s bag when he won the Travelers Championship three times.

“After some holes, when Bubba’s winning teddy can be very annoying to hear,” Chefler jokingly said with reporters on Tuesday that Cromwell, that Cromwell, about his practice round with Scott at TPC River Highlands in CON.

How annoying?

“If you keep saying when Bubba wins here, I am going to kill you with my club,” the chefler said with laughter.

The top-ranking chefler is the defending champion at the Travelers Championship this week, where he defeated Tom Kim in a playoff last year. He is coming out of a T7 finish at the US Open at the Omont Country Club on Sunday and has won three of his last five events, including the PGA Championship in QL Hall.

All in severity, and even though Watson (Travelers Champion in 2010, 2015 and 2018) is left handed, Sheffer said that Scott has helped him to keep the 6,844-yard, Par-70 layout of the signature incident in perspective.

“We talk about that golf course, I think there is a stigma around it that you have to create a tona bedi, but it is really about the most visible looks,” said the Sheffer. “There are some holes where you really have to play conservative and play in the middle of the green and just looks for as much as possible.”

The Sheffeler equalized 65–64–64–65 to 22 last year, then the first playoff hole at 18th place Kim best.

“The traveler is a great golf course in this sense, which you reward for good shots,” he said. “If you start hitting offline, you can be punished very severely. The closing stretch increases it, and that’s why you have such fantastic finish like this year -direction.”

The 28 -year -old Sheffer said that he appreciates the small -town environment and friendly reception from fans in Connecticut.

“I think we play in front of a crowd exiting, it’s really fun for us. The crowd is really really good,” he said.

“… it’s great. You get such a huge crowd, and they are always nuisance and they are having fun, and it becomes loud.

“I always dreamed of winning the tournament. I remember Jordan (Spith) killing the bunker when I was in college (in 2017) and trying to become a supporter.
