Yogaj Singh accused Bumrah’s load for injuries

Yuvraj Singh’s father, former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh, catch, who was said to be on gyming and fitness in cricket.

In a special conversation with InsidesportFormer India cricketer and vocal voice Yogaj Singh has convicted modern-day gym training for injuries to the leading player of India, especially Jaspreet Bumrah. According to Yogaj, the increasing emphasis on weight training is a misguided tendency that is doing more harm than good.

“For God …” Yogaj Singh on Gyming

Yograj believes that the routine of the gym, especially heavy, is unnecessary and is also harmful to young cricketers. He questions the hardness of the muscles that leads to heavy weight lifting. In comparison, cricketers should be flexible like “gymnast” according to former cricketer-coach.

,I am surprised that cricketers go to the gym“A surprised Yogaj Singh Insidesport,The gym occurs when you are 35-36 years old. Otherwise, your muscles are going to harden. But someone should know what he is doing. When you are going down, your strength starts at the age of 36-37 years. Then I can understand that the gym will work.

,But today, the youth are going to the gym. This is why we have injuries. I can say that about 30-40 years ago, injuries were zero. Because in cricket, you need a very flexible, gymnast -like body. Do things with bodyweight like pull-up, push-ups, sit-ups and core (work). But please, for the sake of God, stop sending cricketers to the gym.,

As we all know, fast bowlers are the most accustomed to injuries, seeing their charge and toll, they take their body to lift heavy. Therefore, a person like Jasprit Bumrah, who has an unconventional action, is receiving at the end of several injuries in his career. Citing the example of Bumrah, Yograj claimed that these injuries to modern cricketers are due to gyming.

Using the history of Bumrah’s injury to talk about himself, Yograj said, “Bumrah has been injured four times. You know why? That (gym) is the reason. Mohammed Shami. Hardik Pandya. You don’t have to do bodybuilding. In the old days, Michael Holding like West Indian bowlers was all flexible at that time. He was not in 35.

Sehwag Ekos, Virat Kohli disagreement

Interestingly, Yograj’s feelings were first expressed by Virendra Sehwag. ,You see the players these days-posting a video of lifting 50-60-70 kg during Viret Kohli and other-one series, which actually enhances the chances of injury.“Sehwag spoke to Cricbuz, while advising that he was advised to focus on light weight and rhythm from Sachin Tendulkar.

However, not everyone agrees. Kohli himself led the fitness revolution of Indian cricket since he became a captain in 2014. Their training models supported by sports science and physiologists include weight training with flexibility, mobility and endurance work. Basu Shankar, who was India’s strength and conditioning coach for years, also batted for weight training. He has also been with RCB since 2009.

With the year -long cricket, players are expected to maintain extreme physical condition in forms and continents.
