Arkanses’ Gauge Wood threw a third no-hitter in MCWS history

Omaha, Neb.-Arkansas Right-Hand Gauge Wood on Monday threw a third no-haitter in the history of the men’s college world series to win the Razorback 3–0 to win a 3–0 win over the dead state in a elimination game in Charles Schwab Field on Monday.
Wood set a program record with 19 strikeouts, the second highest in MCWS history and the highest in nine-inning games.
In 65 years, the first No-Hitter needed 119 pitches in MCWS, but Wood said that his fastball was very good throughout the game.
“It did not throw a pitch out of stretch for a while,” Gauge told ESPN that when asked when he realized how close he was getting to No-Hitter.
Jim Wickson of Oklahoma State recorded the last MCWS No-Hitter in 1960. The first was posted in 1950 by Jim Ahler of Texas.
The Arkansas proceeds to face the defeat of the LSU and the UCLA on Monday night’s defeat, while the dead state was abolished.
