Akash away from heavenly seasons, sun clashes

A pair of struggling squads above a step above the WNBA basement will be found on Sunday afternoon as the Connecticut Sun Play Host of the Chicago sky.
Surya has allowed at least 100 points out of three of its last five matches, while Akash enters the three-game losing streak. Both teams are 2-7.
Not only did Chicago abandon its last three matches, but the loss was a joint 64 points, or 21.3 points per competition. Around the three of the three against Atlanta’s dream, the 88–70 defeat was on Friday.
Akash shot 41.2 percent from the floor. While both post players Kamila Cardso (15 points and nine ribounds) and Angel Reese (12 points and nine rebounds) performed well, the backcort struggled as Atlanta’s Rin Havard, 36 points fell.
Chicago entered just 58–54 in the fourth quarter, but allowed 30 points in the last 10 minutes.
Sky coach Tyler Marsh said, “We have got a better job to prevent bleeding.” “For us, it’s just about keeping a consistent ballgame together for 40 minutes. And I felt that we did for about 30 minutes tonight.”
The Sun is looking for a full attempt after absorbing a loss of 100-52 to New York Liberty on 1 June and setbacks 104–67 for Washington mystics last Sunday. Connecticut has not played since then the team was given a lot of time to chew a defensive performance that allowed Washington to shoot 57.1 percent.
In a few highlights for the connecticut, Tina Charles had 17 points and nine rebounds, while Marina Mabre tampered with triple-dabble with 15 points, eight aids and seven rebounds.
“We did not start the game correctly,” said Sun Coach Rachid Mezian. “No energy, no rescue. We have disappeared some shots and all our attention and our confidence.”
Sun and Akash have been tied as the worst teams in defense scoring at 89.3 points per game. Connecticut is also final in the league in scoring with 71.9 points.
“We have to find our identity,” said Mezian. “But without energy, it would be difficult to become a competitive team.”
The game is the first of the four meetings between the teams in this season.
