USMNT Gold Cup is dominated by Trinidad and Tobago in the opener

Malik Tilman scored their first two international goals and Diego Luna and Max Arfaston gave two assistance to each, as the American men’s national team on Sunday won Trinidad and Tobago at their group D opener in the ConcacAF Gold Cup in San Jose, California.

The US took a 3–0 lead by Tilman in the 16th and 41st minutes by a 3–0 halftime lead and Patrick Egimang’s goal in the 44th against the 100th ranked team in the world.

The second-half options Brendon Aaronson and Haji Wright scored in the 82nd and 84th minutes respectively, and Matt Fraz made two savings in the match.

The US played Saudi Arabia in Austin, Texas on Thursday, while Trinidad and Tobago faced Haiti in Arlington, Texas on Thursday.

Americans entered the tournament with disappointment after the last tune-up in Türkiye (2–1) and Switzerland (4–0). The conversation with the team for several reasons with the number of quality players was less interactions.
