Jeff McNell, Juan Soto Rally Mats last nuts

Jeff McNell doubled the walk-off in the 10th innings as New York Met’s won 5–4 in Washington National on Tuesday night in a three-game series opener.

The Mets lagged 3–0 and 4–2 before their fourth direct win and their 13th win in the last 16 matches.

McNell was one RBI single in the second and Juan Soto held the third, before the Mates tied the game with two outsiders in the eighth. Soto drills a run-scoring double drill against Jose Ferler and ran a house on Pete Alonso’s single on Kyle Finnegan’s single.

The Reid Gare (2-2) threw a hitless 10th to strand the automatic runner CJ Abrams, doubled to the first pitch from the coal henry (0–1) to doubled to drive into a pinch-colon Louisangel Aqua.

Soto finished 2-for-4 and is batting in its last 11 matches with four homes, eight RBI and one .549 on-base percentage.

Nathaniel Love first hit a two-run homer, while Abrams gave RBI double double and gave a homer in the fifth for National, which fell 2–6 this month.

Abrams also doubled the game and finished 3 -for -5. Three extra-base hits tied a season and career-high for Abrams, who hit two homes and a double in a 10–4 victory over Baltimore Oriols on 18 May. He is the first shortstop in this season to produce three additional-base hits twice this season.

The National Starter McKenzie Gor, who was traded with Abrams in Washington and started James Wood and Robert Hassel III in the blockbuster deal sent to Soto in 2022 in San Diego Padress, gave two runs on five hits attacking six innings in six innings.

Wood was 1 -for -4 on Tuesday while Hassel finished 0 -for -4.

Mets Starter Griffin Canning scored four runs on seven hits and scored two runs in 5 1/3 innings for more than four times.
