Ryan Fox defeated Sam Burns on 4th playoff hole to win Canadian Open

New Zealand’s Ryan Fox birds the fourth playoff hole to win a performance with Sam Burns and captured the RBC Canadian Open at Calledon, Ontario on Sunday.

Fox tied the 4-under-Barbar 66 in the final round, forcing the playoffs with a shovedy put from about 17 feet on the final hole of the regulation, on the way to the victory of his second career. Both Vijay have come in his last four tournaments.

Burns shot 62 to lead the club house and then waited for a few hours in an attempt to win his first PGA tour in more than two years.

Burns and Fox ended at 18-under 262 in the Northern course of TPC Toronto at Ospre Valley.

The couple repeatedly played Par-5 in the playoff until a winner was set. They recorded first three times through each.

Fox’s T shot on the first playoff hole was in a bunker from Fairway, but from within 6 feet, the potential winner of Burns was removed from the burn mark. Burns left his outlook a short short at the third playoff hole, but was recovered.

Fox had a bogie-free round, rally with a Birdi at Nag 14 and 15 to draw within a stroke. He played the 18th position losing his second shot less than the 175 yard under the fairway – clearly tieing and trying to stay in good position with his approach – and it worked.

Taiwan’s Kevin U posted 66 for the third place in 17 under.

Cameron Young (65) and Matt McCarti (67) finished fourth under 16. The trio of Andrew Putnam (67), South Korea’s Bayong Hun A (66) and Italy’s Matteo Mainacero (69) were reduced to the sixth place.

Burns had nine Birds and a bogie. Burdies consisted of five consecutive holes to start a back nine, and they fought on another on the last hole.

With a few holes in the final round, a dozen golfers were within two shots of the lead.

Fox and Mansero shared a-shot lead.

Shane Lori of Ireland, with an early timing, chased with three consecutive shovedies with an edge with an edge on the par-5 first hole (a 4-foot put). He was undone playing with the last 10 holes in 2 overs, playing with 67 under 67 and 13 under.

U won the lead with an eagle on a par-4 second hole on a shot at a distance of 91 yards. He was going back again with a shovedy on three of the last five holes including the 18th.

The youth, who started the round with an eagle, said he felt that he was in an ideal position until his only bogie came to the last hole when his second shot became strange.

The second round leader Cameron Champion was on track with 67, put under 14.
