Who will open with Khwaja?
Leading in the WTC final, there is a lot of debate on who should be the initial partner of Usman Khwaja. Reports suggested that the team may take a punt on Labuschagne and allow it to open the innings instead of playing the order. However, it seems that the young Contas WTC is ready to open to Australia in the final.
The young man performed an impressive first Test series against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In addition, he is an online expert opener on the side. Therefore, it is understandable that Australia will stick to the option that will be with a win rather than sticking to that option.
Webster boost for pace attack
Green is unlikely to bowl in the WTC final, given that he is cured by his back injury. In this case, the webster in the playing XI will come as a boost for the Starc-Hazelwood-Comens’ speed trio. Like Contas, the webster also made a memorable start in the series against India and he managed to grab the eyeball with his all -round capabilities, especially with the ball.
Hazelwood in, Bolland Out
Josh will be important for Australia’s success at Hazelwood Lord’s. His record at the venue is unprecedented, taking 13 wickets in three matches. And its main attraction is that he has never lost such a game that he has been a part of the prestigious Lord’s.
The inclusion of Hazelwood in playing XI means that Scott Bolland must heat the bench in the competition. The Nathan Leon line-up will have the only specialist spinner.
