Mason Miller’s five-outs save cap athletics win over Oriols

Jacob Wilson recorded three hits and two RBI, Danzel Clarke made a great catch and Mason Miller posted athletics five-out saves to help a 5-4 win over Baltimor Oriols on Friday in West Sacramento, California.

Lawrence Butler and Brent Rooker had two hits each and one RBI had an RBI to help win their second direct game after losing 20 out of their previous 21 outings.

Jackson Holiday worked between three hits and Dylan Carlson also went deep for Baltimore, with a season-case six-game winning streak.

Athletics pushed a decisive run at the bottom of the fifth innings. Butler, Wilson and Rooker stroked an out-out single, with Rooker’s hit plating the run.

Oriols loaded Tyler Ferguson to eighth place, which went on an-out double by Coleton Covers and went to Gunnar Henderson and Carlson. Miller entered and hit Heston Keszerstad and Holiday to eliminate the danger.

Miller killed Adle Rutsman to start the ninth before running Ramon Laureno. He retired Ryan O’Harn on a fly to the left and Ramon Urias on a return to collect his 13th Save.

Baltimore launched 4-3 and was out two out with two outs in the fourth when George Muto ripped a drive to the deep left center. Clarke sprined in intervals to catch the ball and slammed into the wall to end the innings. Clarke was later replaced before the top of the sixth due to a left shoulder fusion.

Jetie Sears (5-5) of Athletics gave four runs and four hits in five innings. He killed three and three left.

Dean Kreer (5-6) of Baltimore allowed five runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings. He hit two and one went away.

Athletics fell behind three before scoring four times at the bottom of the third innings.

Butler doubled a run-scoring from the gloves of the fielder coovers of the Orols Center, and Wilson chased with two runs single. Rooker doubled, and Tyler Sodersstrom’s Infield gave Wilson a 4-3 lead.

Oriols placed it fifth when Holiday started the innings at the center with a 430 -foot explosion.

Baltimore took an early lead in the second when Carlson hit two-out Homer in the left centers.

Margin was reduced to three in the third when Holiday led a double and two went here and down on the fly balls, the other hit by Laureno.
