Vancouver indicated D Sophie Jacks for a three -year contract

PWHL Vancouver signed a three -year contract to Sophie Jacks.
The deal ran with the defender on Wednesday through 2027-28 and has a second signature for the Extension Club.
The 24 -year -old Canadian was a finalist for the PWHL Defender of the Year honor in 2025 and won the league’s first two Walter Cup Championship with Minnesota Frost in 2024 and 2025.
General Manager Kara Gardner More said, “Vancouver fans are going to fall in love with everything that bring Sophie to his game.” “Sophie is a proven winner, and this experience will be important in shaping our foundation from the blue line. He is a dynamic protector with world -class speed and skill, and a player who I think it is only scratching his ability surface.”
In 25 sports, he finished second among the league guards in 2025 with 22 points (seven goals, 15 supports). He finished second among all players with seven points (two goals, five aids) in eight playoff games.
Native of Toronto won a national championship in the Ohio state in 2022 and won a silver medal with Canada at the IIHF Women’s World Championship this year.

Former Frost team partner, defender Claire Thompson signed with Vancouver earlier this week.
Extension teams Vancouver and Seattle have a special window to sign a maximum of five players before the time limit on ET at 5 pm on Sunday. The expansion draft is on ET at 8:30 pm on Monday.
