American amateur champion Jose Louis Ballester signed a multi-year contract with Live Golf, announced by the upstart circuit on Wednesday.
Known as “Josel”, the Ballster will make his professional debut at the Virginia event this week and will be part of the fireball team captained by fellow Spaniard Sergio Garcia.
Garcia said in a statement, “We are very excited about Josele joining the team.” “Personally, I have known him ever since he can pick up a golf club and has worked with his father (Victor) as his coach throughout his golf career. Jolt is going to be a great addition not only for fireball but also for the live league and I can’t wait to live with him as he starts his professional.”
21 -year -old BALEST, currently the official world amateur golf rankings with 2020 Spanish amateur, 2023 European Amateur and 2024 are number 6 with a win at Hazeltine National Golf Club in US Amateur. He recently completed his senior season in the state of Arizona.
“First of all, I would like to thank my family, coaches, friends, and Arizona State University to support me and believe in my career move,” Balster said in a statement provided by Live. “I am very excited about the opportunity to join Fireball GC and continue to learn from Sergio and other great people.”
Balaster Abraham will join the fire shells in Naser, David Puig and Garcia. Luis Mashevu will remain in lineup for the team this week, while Puig belongs to a back injury.
Phil Mixelson named the name-booster as an example of a promising young player who has shown a desire to join the live golf, showing the development of the circuit.
“If you look at good young players from different parts of the world, not necessarily the United States, you have found Jose Ballester and Louis Masweu and Tom McKibin, and these youths of other parts of the world are really willing to come to live and they get that it is what is the same.”
