India is going to play at least 13 T20I matches in the next 7 months.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 edition is over. And now the entire focus of the Control Board (BCCI) for cricket in India will be T20 World Cup 2026. The Indian cricket team will enter the tournament as a firm favorite. Not just because the male in Blue is a resident champion, but also due to talented players available for selection.
And after the IPL 2025, the selectors will have a lot of options to select. Team India is confirmed to play 13 T20I matches against Bangladesh, Australia and South Africa in 2025. Due to ODI and tests, some players may be rested, while others who were part of the first T20I team could have been demolished.

Samson and Pant have got competition
No unkapped player has scored more runs in IPL history than Prabhasimran Singh. And his 2025 season was incredible. He was the 8th highest scorer and gave a great start to Punjab Kings (PBK), not much often. He did not take wickets for PBK, but is a wicketkeeper by business.
Given how Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant performed in IPL 2025 would not be a shock if Prabhasimran made his debut against Bangladesh. He performed well for Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), but to repeat in the IPL that it is a real deal.

Rinku Singh’s replacement
Amidst the struggles of Rinku Singh in the last few months, a finisher spot is for tombs. And now, three players can replace him. These are Naman Dhir, Anid Verma and Ashutosh Sharma. All showed their destructive capabilities in IPL 2025. And Vipraj Nigam was probably the most influential Indian all -rounder. His bowling was a great but this was his power-touching that shook anyone. He can replace someone like Ravindra Jadeja in the team. Vipraj is a defensive bowler like Jadeja, but an upgrade is an upgrade when it comes to killing the ability.

Spinner and powerplay bowlers
Although Arshdeep Singh is there, you need another swing bowler. And no one turned the ball more than Vaibhav Arora in IPL 2025. He also showed the ability to bowl in middle and death. It can be a valuable addition. Harpreet Brar did not play much, but was one of the best bowlers of PBKS when he was given a chance. A defensive bowler, he can show his strength on batting or bowling -friendly pitches.
And finally, this is a convincing Digvesh Rathi. Leggy in Delhi has no issue in taking batsmen or BCCI rules. He will hunt for your wicket and then celebrate. Despite being a defensive wrist spinner like Sunil Narin, he can take a wicket. And in T20 cricket, this matters.
