The US Solhaim Cup team added Britney Lang as the third assistant captain of Captain Angela Stanford for the 2026 competition.
Stanford already had Christie Macferson and Paula Creams on its employees and now adds Lang, who competed in five Solhem Cups from 2009-17 and part of three winning teams.
It will be Lang for the first time as an assistant captain.
Lang said in a statement, “I am honored and excited to be asked to be the assistant captain of the US Solhaim Cup team in 2026.” “I have played a lot of Solheim Cups with Angela, Christie and Paula, and I am excited to work with them to lead the American team to win in the Netherlands next September. It’s probably one of the highest honors I have made in my career. I am encouraged to learn, help the atmosphere as an assistant captain.”
Lang, who earned the privilege of playing full LPGA tour in 2006, won twice in his LPGA career. Her biggest achievement came in 2016 when she captured the Open of American women in three -sided playoffs against the Captain of the Anna Nord Coven of Sweden – European Solhem Cup.
The 2026 Solhem Cup will be played at Bernardus Golf, Netherlands. The US team is the defending champion.
