Rocky wins directly against Marlins, claims the first series of the season

Hunter Goodman hit a two-out, solo home run in the eighth innings, and Colorado Rockies beat Miami Marlins 3–2 on Tuesday night to win its first series of this season.

Rockies lost all 19 series in this season -10 road-and a large-league record in a row in 2024. Colorado has won two straight games for the second time in 2025 and can earn their first series sweep on Thursday afternoon.

Rockies have only 11 wins but 2–1 in June.

Tyler was three hits of Freeman, Goodman and Jordan Beck finished with two hits and Victor Vodnik (1–1) won with 1–1/3 innings of relief.

Jesus Sanchez and Kyle Stores had two hits for Miami, which has dropped three in a row.

The game was tied after seven innings and the Marlins Religion Anthony Bender (1-4) took Thiro Estrada to the eighth position. Goodman then left to give the lead to Colorado.

This was the 10th of his season.

Seth Helvorson received the last three outs for Rockies for Rockies.

Marlins took the third innings against Colorado starter Chase Dollander. Nick Forts and Xavier Sanoja took Walk and Fortes to third place on a flyout. Sanchez along with single to right, driving in forts and sent Sanoja to third place.

Sanoja was thrown at home at the choice of a fielder, but the stools made a 2–0 solo to the center to bring home Sanchez.

Dollander left after taking out the third. He conceded two runs on two hits and three in his three innings.

Rockies were also found in the fifth innings. Miami Starter Sandy Alakantara drove Mikki Mickee with Ek, Monon again stole another and moved third on Freeman’s Infield Single.

Moniyak came home and went to third place on Freeman Beck’s RBI single, and Freeman flew to tie the game on Astrada’s sacrifice.

Alakantara played six innings to tie his season high, leading to two runs on four hits and got out of four.
