Rangers turned to series skid to eliminate Jacob Degrome vs. Cards

Texas Rangers will look at a streak of three straight losing series, when they fight the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday afternoon, which will be in the completion of the three-game interlag series in Arlington, Texas.
The rubber game will be a fight of right hand as St. Louis Eric will send Eric Eric Fedd (3-4, 3.90 ERA) to the mound, while the Rangers will counters with ace Jacob Degrome (4-2, 2.42).
Wilson Contraras entered one run and scored another and returned two of Sunny Gray’s solid pitching and two relieves as Cardinals beat Texas 2–0 on Saturday afternoon. St. Louis managed only five hits, but it was enough to defeat Rangers, who had four hits and only one runner reached the third base.
St. Louis on Friday gave himself a chance to win the series after she was Shellak 11–1, while the Rangers were closed for the eighth time this season, which was after a day after producing the second biggest run of 2025 for a day.
Degrome reaches the hill for the 12th beginning of the season. He has no decision and disadvantage in his previous two outings, the most recently a 2–1 shock at home for Toronto on Monday, during which he allowed two runs on two hits (one of them home runs) in 5 1/3 innings. He went two and did not do a batsman for the first time in his career, a line of 228 began.
“I was fighting myself a little, started awakening the ball, driving a couple – I was not very efficient now,” Degrome said about his performance against Blue Jais. “I took a step in the wrong direction. I was not really able to detect the bottom and I was never able to throw a fastball, in fact, where I wanted. That part was disappointing.”
Degrome 4–2 with 3.95 ERA in seven careers begins against St. Louis, when he was with Mates. In 43 1/3 innings, he scored 50 hits and 19 runs on six walks while ranking 39 strikeouts.
He has not picked up against Cardinals since 2019 and has not defeated St. Louis since 2018.
Fedede has not won in its last three starts: a pair of no-deals on the road against Philadelphia and on the road against home vs. Detroit on Monday with damage in Baltimore in their most recent presence. He allowed five runs (three acquired) on seven hits and five innings in five innings to walk in five innings, while exiting five.
He has not been the same pitcher after shutout 10–0 at home against Washington on 9 May, his most recent victory.
Fedded spent a year in the Korean Baseball Organization before signing with White Sox in 2024 with White Sox and going to St. Louis on the time of trade last year.
“Eric is a person with peace,” said Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol. “He is cool with a ton of words, and you can easily make a mistake as a lack of competition. He (went to Korea) and then he was one of the most sought -asked weapons on the trading deadline, all by betting on themselves. You only do that if you have a lot of faith, and you have a lot of competition.”
Fedde has faced Rangers only once in his career, there was no decision in 6 1/3 innings in the previous season when he was with Chicago. He conceded three hits on five hits and two runs on two walks.
Cardinals announced on Saturday that they were keeping the outfielder Jordan Walker in the 10-day injured list due to inflammation of the left wrist. The move was rebelled till 29 May.
