“You always judge a person …”: LSG coach Justin Langer settled the Rishabh Pant Debate

Despite the end of the playoff race, Lucknow Super Veterans on Thursday made a dominated show to win a 33 -run win over Gujarat’s Titans in Ahmedabad. Asked to bat first, LSG posted a total number of 235/2 off 64 balls with Mitchell Marsh Hamming 117 runs. Later, GT gave a tough battle but LSG bowlers quickly bounced back and banned Shubman Gill and CO on 202/9. With this win, LSG severely dent GT’s hopes of finishing in the top two before the playoffs.

LSG head coach Justin Langer praised captain Rishabh Pant for his leadership and fighter attitude.

“You always judge a person’s character of how they go through a difficult time. And lived all the way through Rishabh. I really respect it. We all know what he has been doing in the last few years, but he keeps on moving, he keeps on performing, he wants to get out in the middle, and he wants to work hard for the boys,” Langer said during the live braidcast.

“So from that point of view, he has really done a good job. You may not know, and this is a really strong person’s sign,” he said.

Langer further stated that after exiting the playoff race, LSG will now look at its campaign to end at a high.

Langer said, “I mean something to play always. There are people who do not have great weather, who want to showcase their talent, and as a team, we respect that we have not been in our best last few sports,” Langer said.

He said, “There is no excuse for this, but we want to show that we have got a very good core. We have got a close knit team. There is no doubt. So it would be good to finish firmly.”

After LSG vs. defeat, GT will close against Chennai Super Kings in its last league stage match on Sunday.
