Lavender is recognized as a symbol for all types of cancer awareness, and the Titans aim to use their platform to spread a message of hope, strength, and early detection.
The franchise announced the move with the statement, “Strength isn’t just in the game, it’s for standing up for a cause,” emphasizing their commitment to social impact beyond cricket. Fans attending the match and watching from around the world are encouraged to participate by wearing lavender or supporting cancer-related initiatives.

This marks the third consecutive year that Gujarat Titans have worn a lavender jersey for a match, continuing a tradition started in 2023 when Hardik Pandya led the side.
A growing trend in IPL
Gujarat Titans are not the first IPL team to adopt a special jersey for a cause. Delhi Capitals pioneered the lavender jersey tribute in 2015, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have also worn a green jersey in past seasons to promote environmental awareness.
